Privacy Policy

Willowsite builds and looks after websites for small businesses. This policy explains what information we collect through willowsite.com and by email, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose. Questions: hello@willowsite.com.
What we collect
- What you send us. When you ask for a free preview, we collect what you type in the form: your business name, your name, phone number, email, town, what your business does, your current website, and your message. If you email us, we keep your messages and anything you attach, such as photos or a logo.
- Public business information. To build a preview or to contact businesses that might want a website, we may use information businesses publish themselves, such as their listing on Google Maps: name, address, phone number, opening hours and website.
- Technical information. Like most websites, our server receives your IP address and the page you requested. We use it to keep the site secure and to stop spam (for example, limiting how many requests one connection can send). These logs are kept for a limited time.
We don’t use advertising or analytics trackers, and our website doesn’t set cookies.
How we use it
- To answer your request, build your preview site, and send it to you.
- To talk with you about your website: questions, changes, quotes and follow-ups.
- To provide the services you sign up for, including billing and support.
- To keep our site and services secure and working.
We use an AI assistant to help us read requests, draft replies and draft preview websites. A person at Willowsite reviews and approves what it drafts before anything is sent to you or published.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers who handle it only so we can run our business:
- DigitalOcean hosts our website, preview sites and request records.
- Resend sends and receives our email.
- Anthropic provides the AI assistant (Claude) that helps draft replies and previews, and GitHub runs it.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces on our pages, so your browser contacts Google when a page loads. Preview and client sites may also show a Google Maps map.
- A payment processor such as Stripe handles card payments if you become a client. We don’t see or store your full card number.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or as part of selling or reorganizing our business.
Preview sites
Preview sites we make for businesses are private concepts. They carry a notice saying so, and they’re marked so search engines don’t list them. If you’d like a preview made for your business taken down, email us and we’ll remove it.
How long we keep it
We keep request and email records while we’re working with you and for a reasonable time afterwards, for our records and in case you come back. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we keep only what we need to make sure we don’t contact you again.
Your choices
- See, correct or delete your information: email hello@willowsite.com and we’ll do it, usually within a few days. We may need to confirm it’s you.
- Stop our emails: reply “no thanks” to any email from us, or email us. We’ll stop and won’t contact you again.
California residents: you can ask us what personal information we’ve shared with others for their direct marketing (we haven’t), and you can use the rights above at any time. Do Not Track: we don’t track you across other websites, so we don’t change anything in response to Do Not Track signals.
Security
Our site uses HTTPS, our servers are locked down and kept updated, and access to request records is password protected. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you send us.
Children
Our services are for businesses. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it on this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll tell clients by email.
